Hey! I'm one of the future students who will learn here and i'm wondering...is there any English-American Studies profile? Because i was told so. What do you study here by the way? And what are the opportunities in finding a job

Thanx and i'm hoping for an answer

There is no English-American Studies combination anymore. It was an option a couple of years ago, but was discontinued. Currently, students cannot combine the two, for reasons which I kinda understand. About what we study, you will see that the question has been answered in the other sections of this forum (the one about internships, etc, etc).

Hi! I want to become a student at American Studies, but I want to be sure about something, in order to be accepted as a student I must give an exam: English and Romanian (or other language) in writing only, but do the high school grades and BAC grades count?

And another question: How can I get in possession of the older subjects from the exam.

Thanks!

Hi, Aundrea! Just e-mail me at office@american-studies.ro and I'll send you some exam topics!

Not so sure about the BAC grades, I think they count for something like 10% of the final grade, but I'd have to ask around and get back to you on that!

Hey, I'm considering studying here and i have a question: do I have to take two exams, at two different languages to become an American Studies student? What was the lowest grade for those who were admitted without paying?

Thanks,
Mady

Hi, Mady,

The lowest grade was 7,59. You don't have to take two exams for two foreign languages, just one exam for English and one for Romanian grammar if you don't want to take another foreign language exam! And by the way, the exam topics for Romanian grammar were RIDICULOUSLY EASY!!!! And they're still going to be very very easy! (just send me an e-mail at office@american-studies.ro and I'll make sure and send you the exam topics, so you can get a better idea!).
Even if you take the Romanian grammar exam, you can still choose another foreign language as your minor, you're not stuck with Romanian for three years!
Well, if you have any more questions, I'm here!

Aundrea, it's only the grade from the 2 exams that counts. And I recommend that you take the exam at Romanian grammar, because it is indeed easy!

Thank you Silvia, and Mihaela. I was planing on taking the test at Romanian, but I am interested if I can come by at the University and buy the subjects from the previous years. I know that last year, there was 'Targul de facultati' and there were some brochures costing 10 lei, with the subjects. Are those still available? If so, I would be grateful if you could tell when and where to come. Thanks!

I'm not sure if those are still available, actually. I think they only make them sometime during the second semester...But the Romanian exam is dead easy, that's a given!
You can e-mail me at office@american-studies.ro and I can try and scan some exam topics and e-mail them to you!
